A Classic Pine Armoire

I picked this vintage pine Thomasville armoire up at a tag sale a couple weeks ago. I absolutely adored the curved top and the gorgeous paneling of the doors and drawers. It reminded me so much of the large antique Swedish cupboards you see in fancy European country homes. Before I started on this one I spent several hours studying the dimension and texture of those old paint surfaces so I could capture just the right feel with this cupboard. I painted the exterior in a soft creamy gray, and did the interior in a handsome warm yellow. I thought I'd fill it up with my antique and vintage quilt collection to show you how much storage there is on the inside!
