A Perfect Pear-ing

On New Years Day I sat down for a while, pencil in hand, and made a list of blog topics to hit in January. That was very organized of me, and I trust you're all mondo impressed. Mostly I just blog on the fly, and you'd be amazed how many times I get halfway through a blog post, get distracted, and never revisit the topic.

Pears were number one on my New Years Day list, though it's taken me a bit to photograph a key component of the post. At our annual Christmas Party my darling friend Carol gave me the most amazing stunning gorgeous gift- a mid century footed white bowl filled with pears. It's absolutely perfect and I couldn't love it more. When the pears got devoured, I went over to pier 1 and bought a pack of faux pears to keep the look. It's displayed proudly and prominently in my dining room. I'd never realized how much I love the look of pears until Carol gave me that gift. First, they come in my favorite colors- warm yellows and chartreuse. They're curvy and fresh and so pretty. Also- pear sangria is basically the most amazing way ever to get drunk.

My beautiful gift from the fabulous Carol.
Thank you Carol!!

mid 19th century pear print. Would be so gorgeous to do a grouping of pear artwork of all different styles and shapes on a spare wall in a kitchen!!

Paul Cezanne knew what's up. I may need a print of this.

Just a lovely photograph.
The contrast of rustic wood with the green of the pairs makes me want to do a dining set in this palette.

Incredible tablescape featuring pear print plates. I must admit, I've never 'scaped' a table in my entire life.

There's nothing practical and everything adorable about these pear shaped salt and pepper shakers

Pale sky blue and pear chartreuse are quite possibly the most perfectly complimentary colors.
