A Painted Cottage Dining Set

I picked this vintage solid pine dining set up just down the road in my town a week ago. It's such a sturdy chunky set, with great lines and loads of character that I decided to go in a cottage direction with it. I really love the trestle base to the table too.  I painted the entire thing in a durable antique white enamel, lightly distressed it to bring out all the character, then sealed the table top and seats. I forgot to take before pictures, but here it is completed, decked out for Autumn, and all ready for a new home!

  2. Amazing what a lick of paint can do to an old piece of furniture.

And seriously! If more people did this then we could chop down less trees :D
