A Classic Cherry Sideboard

This is the vintage cherry sideboard that matches the six chair dining set I posted below. I love the curvaceous lines of it- so elegant. I painted it in the same black gloss enamel, and re-did the top in a rich cherry, for a modern meets classic vibe. I kept the original hardware in its original patina because, let's all be honest, it's beautiful.
Before and Afters below!

  1. Perfection. Classic. Nothing is better than a high gloss black. To be honest I would've painted the whole thing black but good thing I wasn't in charge of this piece because the wooden top makes it that much more chic.

    1. Thank you Stephanie! The wood tops take a little more effort because they have to be sanded, stained, and re-sealed, but when you're dealing with cherry with such a beautiful wood grain, it's well worth the time.

  2. This is beautiful! I love the stained top. I'm about to paint something similar in a high gloss finish. Would you mind sharing the paint you used? Also, were brush marks an issue? Thanks!!
