A Mid Century Modern Cedar Chest

I actually refinished a related cedar chest, also made by Lane, about two weeks ago. I purchased this one from the gal who lives in the house behind ours. It's got loads of character and such a cheeky splay to the legs. I sanded, stained, and sealed the mahogany top that was hidden under an old yellow paint. I painted the case in a bright turquoise that makes me think of the beach, then distressed, and sealed it with a dark wax. I polished up the original funky brass drawer pulls to give the chest a little more twinkle. It's definitely a fun, light hearted piece. It would be cute at the foot of the bed, or in an entryway. This was a pretty dramatic metamorphosis, which just goes to show you, never give up hope on a good piece of furniture.
