An Elegant Mahogany Dining Set

This was an absolutely wonderful dining set that I found through craigslist a few weeks ago. It was in perfect condition, but the top needed to be refinished, and the chairs needed a new surface. I love the classic lines of the set so much that I tried, alas fruitlessly, to convince the husband that it was time for a dining set upgrade. He's very attached to our current antique oak set though, so this one is available. I sanded the top of the dining table, stained it back to its original rich deep color that makes mahogany the king of all woods, and then poly'd it until it was smooth as silk. I painted the chairs in a new saturated black paint that I'm already really really a fan of. The chair seats are reupholstered in a rich cream canvas cloth. Before and Afters below. Let me know if you're interested in the set!
I forgot to take a formal 'before' shot, but here's the table top right after I sanded it, before stain.

Here are the chairs with cushions removed and all ready for paint.

Dining table all done- it also has a 12" leaf, this is the table without the leaf.

So pretty!!!!
