Hanging Cupboards

Last fall I picked up the most adorable antique wall cupboard at a tagsale. It was only $10 and I really couldn't get my money out fast enough. It was seriously love at first sight. At the time I didn't have a spot for it, so I put it in my shop and prayed no one would buy it. Luckily no one did take it, so I took it home and after Christmas I hung it in my kitchen. I just love it there. It adds color, architectural character, and extra storage. I've got wine glasses in there at the moment.
Ever since I put mine up, wall cupboard have really been catching my eye. I might pick up a second one at some point to replace the ugly modern hanging cupboard I have in the down stairs bathroom. Here are some gorgeous examples. Happy Wednesday!
Here's mine over the empire farm table I re-did a couple weeks ago.

With the color palette kept to a bare minimum, the emphasis in this space is on texture and structure. This hanging cupboard is the perfect way to display an eclectic grouping of smalls.

The simple shape and furnishings allow the beautifully worn color and surface
on this antique cupboard to really shine.

I love how the turquoise on this cupboard really stands out in this kitchen. Hanging cupboard are such a great alternative to the standard builder cupboards.

This adorable open shelved cupboard displays a lovely collection of transferware plates

Simple and sweet, this cream colored cupboard softens the space.

A pair of shallow hanging cupboards add the perfect amount of storage along the wall in this galley kitchen.

As beautiful as a still life painting, this vignette of table, boxes, and hanging cupboard is absolutely breathtaking.

Instead of hanging a piece of art over a sideboard, why not go with a hanging cupboard. You can show off  your collection and have the objects you need for hosting near at hand.

And finally, this magnificent antique cupboard is the perfect fit for a little architectural nook.

  1. $10 what a steal. I love it. I never run into those kinds of bargains.
