A Warm Yellow Cupboard

This is one of those amazing trash to treasure transformations. I found this cupboard on the side of the road and immediately did a u-turn to rescue it. It's solid rock maple, well built by the Sterling Company of Jamestown, NY. I love the neat clean lines of it, and immediately knew I wanted to go with a rich warm paint tone, to compliment the delicious wood grain of the top. If you're interested, this is the color that maple has with just polyurethane, I didn't stain it at all after sanding off the old finish. Isn't it spectacular! I love maple. I then bought two baskets to add storage to the lower portion. The knobs on the drawer are antique, salvaged from a 19th century chest of drawers.

    1. Hi Connie. Thanks! The paint is a custom mixed chalk paint with Glidden's French Mustard as the base. The baskets are from TJ Maxx.

Such a beautiful piece! Saw on craigslist & just had to see the before & after. Wish you were a little closer so I can see in person. Fantastic job!
