A White Pedestal Dining Table

I love the simplicity and freshness of a white pedestal dining table. I just finished this beautiful oak one yesterday. I prepped it, primed it, and finished it with Amy Howard's new one step paint . The paint adheres like a chalk paint, with fabulous grip and durability, but it's less chalky and more silky smooth- so no waxing is necessary. I finished the table top with several coats of polyacryllic though, as it's a table top, and needs to be very waterproof. I couldn't be happier with the outcome! I staged the table with a set of six white press back oak chairs. I haven't decided if I want these to go with the round table or my farmhouse table. I like them so much with both!

  1. This is so beautiful! I have the exact same table AND chairs! I still haven't gotten the courage to paint my wood furniture yet...but if and when I do, my table and chairs like this might be the first to get a paint job!

    1. Hi Debbie- If you do choose to paint your set, I used Amy Howard's One Step paint, (She didn't pay me to say this)- but it was really really wonderful. Best of luck and thank you for stopping by!

  3. It turned out beautiful. I have an almost identical set. After 25 years of use, mine was either going to be replaced or updated. I chose to paint the whole set. I actually spray-painted everything but the top. I used an ivory on the lip and base and the top got a brick red color. The chairs are a dark walnut, although I bought it thinking it was black. Love how it turned out. I posted about it some time back. If interested, you can search my categories.
