Refinishing Hitchcock

I picked up this lovely set of four solid maple chairs separate from the solid maple dining table, but it's a match made in heaven. All the pieces are Hitchcock, of the highest quality, and have beautiful classic lines. Unfortunately, over the years the stencil decoration that hitchcock pieces are known for, had been worn and scratched. It was time to give this set some new life! I painted the base and chairs in a creamy rich white, and sanded stained and re-sealed the top. Truly it's a beautiful slab of maple on this table top. The table is 42" round but has two 14 inch leaves as well. I photographed it with and without the leaves. Before and Afters below!
