An Antique Desk with Elaborate Carving

I picked this lovely desk up last week from a house in Storrs, Connecticut along with several other wonderful pieces of furniture. It has the most spectacular elaborate carving and applied woodwork, but was rather worse for wear surface wise. I sanded, stained, and sealed the top which is of fabulous mahogany and painted the case in a cream almost gray. The piece is custom for clients who live in a superb antique tudor home just outside Boston. The desk and the house are both from the same period, 1920s, and I think it will fit perfectly in amongst their other fine antiques and handsome decor.
