This was one of the coolest dining tables I've ever worked on. Just look at that intricate base! Id guess the table is around 100 years old. I calmed down the tacky black and gold that was doing it no favors, and went with the palest shade of dove gray, distressed and finished with a custom gray furniture wax. I sanded the mahogany table top to reveal the beautiful grain, and then stained that in minwax's new 'Classic Gray', which gives it the perfect pickled effect. All the antique dining chairs are solid mahogany as well.
