An Antique Oak Pedestal Table

This is a custom project that I finished for a client last week. We gave a traditional antique oak dining table from about 1900-1920 a modern twist by refinishing it in a high gloss black enamel, with a hand waxed and buffed top. Before and Afters below!

    Can you tell me more about waxing the top? We're painting an antique pedestal table black, but more of a satin finish (satin impervo by Ben Moore). I'd like to protect the top, since it'll get daily use. Also, I wonder if waxing will help cover some of the brush strokes. Thanks!
